Construction for the new Beijing Sub-Center Library is well underway, with completion due early next year. We are incredibly excited to see the tree-like columns in the reading space coming together. The columns will also act as a technology component, tackling climate control, lighting, acoustic comfort, and rainwater disposal.
全新北京城市副中心图书馆的建设正在顺利进行,预计明年初完工。Snøhetta非常兴奋地看到阅读空间里树状的柱子聚在一起。柱子还将作为技术组成部分,解决气候控制、照明、声学舒适性和雨水处理等问题。

Beijing Sub-Center Library will offer its visitors the world's largest open reading area under its ginkgo roof-like canopy. Snøhetta's ambition for the library is to provide a contemporary yet timeless space for learning, knowledge sharing, and open discussions, as well as celebrate the area's cultural richness.
北京城市副中心图书馆将在银杏叶般的屋面下为游客提供世界上最大的开放阅读区。Snøhetta对这座图书馆的雄心和愿景是为学习、知识共享和公开讨论提供一个现代而永恒的空间,并赞颂北京文化的丰富性。

The library is one of many projects under construction in the region, and several other projects are in the planning phase.
